Albert Wilhelm


The frigate Albert Wilhelm disappeared in the deep 27.January 1883 at Strømsholmen after having drifted ashore under a storm. She was on a journey from Gøteborg to Port Vendres in France loaded with wood and iron ore. The crew counted sixteen men, and in the accident and high waves six men lost their lives. Today the scattered remains of Albert Wilhelm rest outside Skottevik at Sjuertviskjær on a depth of 20 to 30 meter. Spats and other small wreck debris is spread out around in the area Store Nibe between Strømsholmen and Sjuertviskjær.
