Berina was a former Dutch ship named Madjoe that was sold to Norway in 1953. In 1965 she was rebuilt in Bergen to a single decked general cargo ship. Under a journey 15.August 1979 loaded with cement, the cargo shifted and she developed a dangerous listing. She was taken in tow but later that same day, but she soon capsized and sank approximately two nautical miles southwest of Stangholmen lighthouse.The wreck rest today, according to Forum Skagerak, on a depth of 32 meter.
