Iona
was a wooden barque built by Tellef Larssen in Arendal in
Norway, and was launched in March 1876. Not much is known
about her history before she drifted and hit ground at
Havsøen outside Arendal 3.December 1909. She was declared
a total wreck and was written off the official ship lists.
The wreck was found in the 1980's on a depth of
approximately 15 meters. There isn't much left of her
today, just some fractured wooden pieces and the lower
parts of her hull spread out on the sea bed.
