Gilhausen

The
German steamer Gilhausen was
laid down by Friedrich Krupp AG in Kiel in Germany, and
was launched in 1921. She was rebuilt in 1932, and
continued her civilian service after the outbreak of world
war two. She went down after she ran aground south of
Vågsøy on Palleneset 26.September 1941. Today the remains
of her rest on a depth of approx 36 to 50 meter on the
west side of Vågsøy.
