Henry

The
steamer Wasa was built by Eriksberg Mekaniske
Verkstad AB
in Gothenburg and was launched in June 1907. She was sold
to a Norwegian owner and rebuilt in 1925, and renamed
Henry. In second world war she sailed for the
Norwegian home Fleet. 13.February 1944 she sailed together
with the steamer Irma northbound, when they outside
Kristiansund was attacked by the Norwegian MTB`s 632 and
653. Irma was the first to be torpedoed, and the crew on
Henry managed to launch two life boats before they also
suffered the same fate. The wreck of Henry is said to rest
on a depth of approx 200 meter outside Hestskjær at
Hustadvika.
