In the summer 2004 divers from the dive club Ægir found the remains of a shipwreck in open water at Kjerringa on Stadt. After some research and help from Erling Skjold & Norwegian Shipwreck Archive, this turned out to be the remains of the Norwegian vessel Jonarnes who went down in the deep 20.June 1929. She was on a journey from Larsnes to Sarpsborg loaded with limestone when she hit ground and disappeared in the deep at Storebåen. The remains rest today in open waters a short distance from Svinøya on a depth of approx 50 meter.
