The steamship Malmberget was built by R & W Hawthorn, Leslie & Company in Newcastle and launched in June 1913. A few months after launch she disappeared under a journey from Narvik to Rotterdam loaded with iron ore 28.November 1913. She left Narvik 27.November, and last contact with her was the day after. Wreck debris was found in the coming days on Fugløya and Reipåga. Several attempts to find the wreck has been done around Meløy, but so far without any luck.
