Delfinus

Delfinus was a cargo steamer built by Laxvåg Masking & Jernskibsbyggeri in Bergen, Norway, and was launched in 1912. She was delivered to the Norwegian company Det Bergenske Dampskipselskap in October that same year. After the German invasion of Norway on April 1940, she was seized and sailed for the Norwegian Home Fleet. She was bombed and damaged by British airplanes in  June and was sent for repairs in Bergen. Under a journey from Stavanger to Hamburg n a convoy loaded with fish and oil, she was spotted and torpedoed by the British submarine HMS Sturgeon outside Årsland 6. November 1940. According to several sources, the wreck rest today on a depth of 65 meter about one nautical mile from shore.
