Eros
was put under German control after the German occupation
of Norway in 1940. 14.October 1941 she was attacked by
three British planes from RAF 42.Squadron outside
Egersund. The crew abandoned ship and refused to return
after the attack. Without crew she went adrift and hit
ground north of
Egersund at Søvikodden. Before any attempt to
rescue her could be launched, she broke in two and sank.
The wreck rest today on a depth of 10 to 70 meter at
Stolen.
