Fjeldknaus was built in Christiania in Norway as a general cargo ship built with a hull of concrete, and was launched in 1908. She was rigged down to a barge in the early 1920's and served for the company Halle & Peterson in Kristiania. Under a journey to Sauda loaded with stone, the tow cable broke and she hit ground in the Langgangsfjord 7. January 1924. The wreck was inspected by salvage divers but was written of as a total loss. The wreck rest today in shallow waters close to shore in Gismarvika, with parts of her stern visible above the waterline.
