Georg L. M. Russ


Georg L. M. Russ was a cargo steamer built by Flensburger Schiffbau Gesellschaft in Germany, and was launched in 1938 for Russ Ernst Schiffahrt & Assekuranz in Hamburg. She was spotted and torpedoed by the British submarine HMS Unshaken under command of Lt. Charles E. Oxborrow outside Stavanger 12. August 1942. The wreck rest today about 1,5 nautical mile from shore on a depth of 45 to 60 meter in open waters.
