Nesodtangen was built at Trondhejms Mekaniske Verksted in 1929 as a steamship for Nesodden Dampskipsselskap. She was used as a regular passenger ferry up the 1960s between Nesoddtangen and Oslo. In 1971 she was sold to Sarpsborg Skipsindustri AS and rebuilt. After a couple of years she ended up in Stavanger as an accommodation vessel for oil workers. She was deliberately in 1975 and rest today on a depth of 40 to 53 meter outside Steinsøy.
