Trold
was a tug boat built by Akers Mekaniske Verkstad in
Kristiania as yard number 115, and was launched in 1887
for the Norwegian company Fredrikstad Kullcompagnie. She
was rebuilt to a coastal freighter two years later and
renamed Tinnsjø and sailed for Tinn Dampskibselskap in
Moss. She changed hands several times during her career,
and last registered owner is listed as Mr. Dahl in
Haugesund. She was stricken from the ship lists in 1978,
and sank while she laid at anchor, or as some sources
claim, scuttled as a breakwater in 1982. The wreck rest
today on her starboard side, still visible above the
waterline close to shore in Hafrsfjord.
