Sheaf
Don was built by Blyth
Shipbuilders & Dry Dock Company in Liverpool and was
launched in 1917.
On her last
journey she sailed for the British company Sheaf Steam
Shipping Company in Newcastle. On a voyage from Tyne in
England to Skien loaded with coal she hit ground at
Finnebåen 23.February 1926. Her hull broke in two and she
sank on a depth of 20 to 25 meter. The battered remains of
her rest today approx 100 meter northwest of the southern
pole at Finnebåen, southwest of Nevlunghavn.
