B.K.I
was built by Blackett`s
Concrete Ships Ltd in Thornaby in England and was launched
in 1920. She was sold to Norway and the company Christiania
Portland Cementfabrik
four years later and renamed Crete Joist. She was again
sold in 1941 to Bergen
Kullkompani. Rumors say she was used by
the German Kriegsmarine, or organization Todt, under
second world war, but little is known about her history.
Outside Fevåg a barge stand beached which is believed to
be Crete Joist. According to a few historic sources she is
supposed to have hit ground 20.February 1943, and
obviously abandoned.
