Minensuchboot M 468

The
German Kriegsmarine's minesweeper M 468 was a Mboot40
class minesweeper built by Giessen & Zonesin Krimpen
in Holland, and was launched in 1942. She was commissioned
and put in service the same year. Under
a mission to escort a German convoy from Trondheim to Bodø
she hit a mine outside Osen 12.August 1944. Heavily
damaged but still afloat, she was taken in tow, but 04:30
the following morning she went down in the deep at
Langroskjær light. The remains of her rest today on a
depth of approx 25 to 40 meter.
