The
steamer Margrete Johanne was built at Tronheims Mekaniske
Verksted, and was launched in 1875. Under
second world war the boat was requisitioned by the
German occupation forces, and most likely used in local
transport according to some historical documents. She
changed owners several times during her career, before she
was sold to Henry Heggvik in 1967. Under a
voyage from Bergen to Sandnessjøen loaded with general
goods she hit ground on Vettabåen 30.January 1967. She was
consired a total loss, and the remains of her rest today
in shallow waters at Vettaboen.
