The steamer Adige was built by Monmouth Shipbuilding Company in Chepstow and was launched in 1920 for The Shipping Controller. She was sold to Italy the following yeear, before she again was sold to Adolf Wiards in Bremen in 1926 and renamed Monsun. She ran aground 17. December 1942 outside Abelvær under a journey from Narvik to Germany loaded with iron ore. The cargo was salvaged and the wreck broken up in 1966 all the way down to her keel, and the few battered remains of her rest at Kvittingstarren outside Abelvær on a depth of 10 to 25 meter.
