Nerva

The
steamer Nerva ran aground outside Rørvik 7.February 1943
under a journey from Finseidet to Königsberg in Germany
with a cargo of pyrites. She was laid down in Glasgow
under the name Forestgate and launched in 1924, and
renamed Gwentgate before she ended up in Norway under the
name Nerva in early 1935. Under the German invasion of
Norway she was requisitioned by the Germans and did
service for them until she went down in 1943. Today the
wreck rest on a depth of 25 to 55 meter close to shore
near Svinestein north of Rørvik.
