The steamer Rheinstein was built
by Rostocker Schiff & Maschinenbau AG in
Rostock and was launched in 1833. Ten years later she
was bought by Bergenske
Dampskibsselskap AS in Norway and renamed Pollux.
Under
a journey from Blyth to Tromsø loaded with coal, she hit
ground 22.November 1900 at
Buholmråsa. She was made seaworthy again seven day later
and taken in tow towards Bodø where she sank en route
1.December. The remains of Pollux rest today on a
depth of 24 to 35 meter as a classic Donald Duck wreck
approx 150 meters southeast of Saxa at Buholmråsa
lighthouse.
