M 1104 - Jan Hubert

The German trawler Jan Hubert was built in Hamburg in Germany, and was launched in 1937. She was soon requisitioned by Kriegsmarine who was in dire need of such boats, and put in service as M 1104 in 11.Minensuch Flotille. Assinged with the task of escorted freighters outside Kristiansand 8.June 1941, she collided with the steamer Aura and was heavily damaged. The crew had to abandon ship and she went down in the deep soon after the accident. The wreck was found in 2010 on a depth of 50 to 62 meter at Mågeskjær outside Søgne, west of Kristiansand.
