Theano

The
steamer Theano was sunk by British Handley Page Hampden
torpedo bombers outside Lindesnes 13. December 1942. She
was built in Holland in 1929, but was requisitioned by the
Kriegsmarine after the outbreak of world war two. She was
used as a supply vessel from early 1942. With a
little help and information from Erling Skjold and his
Norwegian shipwreck archive, divers from Søgne dive club
found the wreck of Teano in the summer 2020. The wreck is
resting today on her keel as a classic Donald Duck wreck
on a depth of approx 100 meters, west of Lindesnes.
