Capella
was laid down by Bergen Mekaniske Verksted
in Norway, and was launched in June 1945. She ran aground
on Kløvingbåen south of Tjøme 1.November 1962. Several
rescue operations were attempted, but nothing could save
her from the bad weather. 15.November she disappeared in
the deep. Capella was on a journey from Kirkenes to Oslo
with a crew of 22 men ( and one woman ) loaded with
general goods and twelve passengers. The remains of
Capella rest today at Kløvingbåen on a depth of approx 20
meter.
