M 1101 - Foch & Hubert


The whaler Foch & Hubert was built in Hamburg in Germany, and was launched in 1938. She was requisitioned by the German Kriegsmarine, and converted to a minesweeper. Escorting a convoy of the German 3.Seetransport staffel with thirteen ships including three escorts vessels , she hit ground at Hellene south of Tjøme 14.April 1940. She was later written of from the Kriegsmarine'sship lists. The remains of M 1101 rest today on a depth of approx 10 to 16 meter on the east side of Hellene, south of Verdens Ende.
