Union IV


Union IV was built as a steamship in Porsgrunn as yard number 61 at Porsgrund Mekaniske Verksted and was launched in 1912. In 1939 she was rebuilt to a motor vessel and had her tonnage slightly increased. She did service in the Home fleet under second world war without any notable events. Under a journey from Oslo to Skien loaded with general goods she ran aground 3. November 1956 on Rakkeboene at Hellene. According to local divers, the wreck rest on a depth of approx 15 meter north west of the iron pole at Hellene.
