Heim

Vestland,Norway

Heim ran aground at Hjelmevågen in Hjeltefjord 23.January 1942 under a journey to Hjelmevågen loaded with fish. Heavily damaged as she was, it was not sure that she would be afloat, even if they managed to get her of the reef. The crew decided to row back and forth between the vessel and shore to salvage everything they could manage. Later she broke in two parts and went down in the deep, at the inside of the reef Kjeflu in the entrance to Hjelmevågen. The flattened remains oh her rest today south of the northern pole of Kjeflu on a depth of 15 to 35 meter.
