Helga Ferdinand

The
German steamer Helga Ferdinand went down after she was
attacked by British airplanes 8.November 1944. As part of
a northbound convoy, they took cover in Midt-Gulen to wait
for escorts and the cover of the dark. In the afternoon
they were spotted by a British airplane, and shortly after
the steamers Aquila
and Helga Ferdinand were attacked and sunk. The wreck rest
today on a depth of approximately 30 to 68 meter north of
Myklebust.
