Alstein was built in Opsanger, and was launched in 1908 for Mr.Ytreland. She was sold several times during her career, and in 1935 she was rebuilt which slightly increased her tonnage. In the early 1970s it was planned to use her as a restaurant boat, but unfortunately she sank at the Persell pier in Moss city. In early November 1979 the job of raising the wreck started, but the whole story ended with her sinking once again and was written of as a total loss in November 1979. The wreck rest today on a depth of 35 meter, only twenty meters away from the bow of Nordvard in Moss.
