The
steamer Drammen was built by Bergens Mekaniske Verksted,
and was launched in 1875. She sank west of Steilene
outside Nesodden after a collision with the steamship
Union III 6.November 1914 loaded with beer, wine and
general goods. She went down in an area with rough
underwater formations and a search operation pulled out by
divers in the early 1990s, soon showed the difficulties
with finding this wreck. The wreck was found three years
later in the summer 1993. The wreck rest today on her keel
as a classic Donald Duck wreck on a depth of
approximately 32 to 42 meter at Torskegrunnen, west of
Steilene.
