Magne
Sigurd stranded on Gjyren south of Strømtangen
27.September 1956. The company Falken inspected, with
their diver Badowski, the wreck after the accident. Mr.
Badowski had also found the remains of the frigate Schleswig that same year.
Under the inspection of Magne Sigurd he noticed that the
wreck was stuck with her bow in the bottom on a depth of
15 meter. They salvaged some of the gear and parts of the
cargo and abandoned the wreck where she was. The Norwegian
"Filmavisen" also made their first underwater movie with
16 mm film on the wreck in 1956. The wreck rest today some
150 meters north northwest of the pole at Fjeset on a
depth of 12 to 15 meter.
