King Cruiser

Rokko Maru was laid down by Nippon Kokan K.K in Tokyo, and was launched in 1967 for the Japanese company Kansai Kisen. In 1990 she was sold to Songsem Company in Bangkok, and was renamed to King Cruiser. She did service as a ferry between the Phi Phi islands and Phuket. She hit ground 4.May 1997 between Anemone Reef og Shark Point outside Ao Nang, and the damage wasn't bigger than it took more than one hour before she sank. All the 600 passengers were able to abandon ship and was picked up by boats who came to assist. She laid herself at rest on a depth of 10 to 32 meter.
