HTMS Mataphon


The landing craft USS LCT 1260 was laid down by Quincy Bargebuilders in the US, and was launched in September 1944 for the US Navy. She was put in the Reserve fleet and was sold to the Thai Navy in 1950. Rumors say she was also used as a ferry in Bangkok but this is unverified. She was scuttled as an artificial reef and dive target 20. October 2012 outside Koh Larn. The wreck rest today on her keel as a classic Donald Duck wreck on a depth of approximately 18 to 22 meter.
