HTMS Mataphon


The landing craft HTMS Mataphon was sunk outside Pattaya 20.October 2012 as an artificial reef. She was built in USA in 1944 and had served US Navy as LCT-1260 until 1950. She was sold to Thailand and used for decades in the navy before she was stricken. Rumors say she was used as a ferry in Bangkok but this is uncertain. The wreck rest to day on her keel on a depth of 18 to 22 meter outside the island Koh Larn. Also see the wrecks of HTMS Khramto.and HTMS Kut.
