Sea Tiger

Sea
Tiger was deliberately scuttled as an artificial reef and
dive target in 1999, after the US authorities had
confiscated the ship in the early 1990's trying to smuggle
illegal immigrants to Hawaii. Little is known about her
history except she was a former Taiwanese ocean trawler,
probably chartered or sold to the Chinese mafia. In 1992
an armada of trawlers packed with Chinese began appearing
in U.S. waters, among them the Fun Fong Seong 303. She
entered Honolulu harbor in February 1992 at full speed and
crashed into the main dock, whereupon almost hundred
Chinese immigrants jumped ashore. The ship was confiscated
and later sold at an auction and scuttled. The wreck rest
today on her keel on a depth of 25 to 38 meter southwest
of Waikiki.
