Yubae Maru


Yubae Maru was a cargo steamer built by Ishikawajima Shipbuilding & Engineering, and was launched in 1919 for Suzuki Shosen KK. She changed owners a couple of times before Japan attacked USA in December 1941, and she was requisitioned by the Imperial Japanese Navy as an auxiliary military transport. She was bombed and sunk by American airplanes from USS Bunker Hill 17. February 1944 in Truk lagoon.  The wreck rest today on her port side on a depth of 15 to 34 meter on the west side of Uman Island.
