HMNZS Canterbury

HMNZS
Canterbury was one of two Leander class frigates built for
the New Zealand navy, and was laid down at Yarrow & Co
in Scotland in 1969. She was launched the following year,
and did service for the New Zealand navy from 1971 until
she was taken out of service in 2005. She was sold for the
symbolic amount of 1 $ and stripped down before she was
scuttled as an artificial reef 3. November 2007 in Deep
Water Cove at Cape Brett. The wreck rest today on a depth
of approximately 12 to 38 meter. Also see her sister ship
