Courier
was laid down by Swan & Hunter Ltd in England, and was
launched in 1887 for the Australian company Huddart Parker
& Company in Melbourne. She served for decades in the
excursion trade around the Port Philip area. In 1927 she
was sold to a scrapping company in Melbourne who stripped
her of any valuable parts. The hull was scuttled 29. March
1928 at the Ships Graveyard outside Melbourne city. The
battered remains of her rest today on a depth of 36 to 43
meter outside Point Lonsdale.
