Heroic

New South Wales

Heroic was a steam tug built by Rennoldson & Sons in South Shields, and was launched in 1909 for the Australian company John & Thomas Fenwick. She was requisitioned by the Royal Navy during The Great War between 1914 to 1918 who named her Epic, and returnedher to her owners in 1919. She was sold in 1973 to Mr, Mullins in Sydney and laid up in Homebush Bay in Paramatta River where she was abandoned. The wreck still rest there together with several other abandoned ships.  Also see the nearby wrecks of the former Navy vessel HMAS Karangi and the steamer Ayrfield.
