The
steamer Nepean was built by J.P
Remnoldson & Sons i South Shields and launched in
1909 for the company Parker & Co in Melbourne. She
changed name right after launch to Nyora for reasons
unknown. She did service as a tug boat in Melbourne and
was lost 9.July 1917 outside Cape Jaffa during a storm
and high seas. Of the 16 men crew only two survived. The
wreck was found in 2014 and finally announced in the
summer 2019. The wreck rest approx 27 nautical miles
outside Cape Jaffa on a depth of 50 meter.
