Nyora

The steamer Nepean was built by J.P Remnoldson & Sons in South Shields, and was launched in 1909 for the Australian company Parker & Company in Melbourne. She changed name right after launch to Nyora for reasons unknown. She did service as a tug boat in Melbourne and wentdown in the deep 9.July 1917 outside Cape Jaffa during a storm and high seas. Of the crew of sixteen men, only two survived. The wreck was found in 2014 and officially announced in the summer 2019. The wreck rest today 27 nautical miles outside Cape Jaffa on a depth of 50 meter.
