The steamship Satara was built by Dumbarton Shipyard and was launched in 1901 for the British India Steam Navigation & Company.  Under a journey from Calcutta to Sydney loaded with coal and merchant goods. She hit ground at Edith Breaker 20.April 1910. She sank one hour later and two people lost their lives in the accident. The wreck of Satara was located in September 1984 by sports divers on a depth of 36 to 42 meter northeast of Edith Breaker, south of Seal Rocks near Sugarload light.
