South
Australian was built in Schiedam in Holland, and was
launched in 1911 for the South Australian Harbors Board.
From 1912 she did service in Adelaide harbor until she was
laid up in late 1982. As part of a plan to create
artificial reefs outside Adeliade, she was prepared and
scuttled outside Glenelg 16.January 1985. She has become a
popular dive site, and the wreck rest today standing on
her keel as a classic Donald Duck wreck on a depth of 15
to 22 meter at Glenelg Tyre Reef. The wreck is mostly
known as the "Glenelg Dredge" wreck.
