HMAS Swan

Western Australia

HMAS Swan was a River class destroyer escort laid down by Williamstown Dockyard in February 1965. She was launched two years later and was commissioned in the Australian Navy in January 1970. She operated in Southeast Asia in several operations and earned herself four merits. She was modernized in the 1980', and after decades of service she was decommissioned in September 1996. She was then rigged down, and deliberately scuttled as a dive attraction north of Dunsborough 14. December 1997. The wreck rest today on her keel on a depth of 15 to 30 meter.
