Admiral Lazarev was a Svetaland class light cruiser laid down at Russud Shipyard in Nikolayev in October 1913. She was launched in June 1916. Due to the October Revolution she was not completed, and was in 1919 renamed Hetman Petro Doroshenko. She was modernized and completed in December 1926, and renamed Krasny Kavkaz. She collided with the cruiser Komintern in 1932 and was rebuilt, followed by another modernization eight years later. After the German invasion of Soviet Union in 1941, she defended the naval base in Sevastapol and gave fire support under the siege of Odesssa. In December 1941 she participated in the Soviet offensive at Feodsiya where she was damaged by German artillery, and attacked by JU 87 dive bombers. After repairs she participated under operations at Novorossiysk in 1943. She survived the war and was used as a training vessel in the late 1940's, and then as a target ship in the early 1950's. She was sunk by an anti shipping missile 21. November 1952. The wreck rest today on a depth of 42 to 53 meter sixteen nautical miles outside Cape Opuk.
