The
steam ship Eisenach was built by Vulkan Werke AG in
Hamburg, and was launched in July 1922 for the company
Nord Deutscher Lloyds. In 1935 she was sold to the
Bulgarian company Societe Commerciale Bulgare De Nav in
Varna, and was renamed to Rodina. Under a journey from
Istanbul to Varna loaded with grain 19.September 1941, she
hit two mines outside Burghaz in Bulgaria and quickly went
down in the deep. The wreck rest today standing on her
keel as a classic Donald Duck wreck on a depth of 25 to 42
meter northeast of Dyuni.
