Hilma Hooker

Hilma Hooker was built at Van der Giessen de Noord in Holland, and was launched in 1951. After a series of ownership changes she ended up in Colombian ownership in 1979 under the name Hilma Hooker. In the summer of 1984 she experienced engine problems outside Bonaire and had to be towed into the harbor. After an inspection by the port authority, they found eleven tons of marijuana hidden in a false hull. The crew was immediately arrested, but her owners were never tracked down. She was towed out of harbor and scuttled 12. September 1984. The wreck rest today on a depth of 18 meter next to EEG Boulevard south of Kralendijk.
