Jane Sea

Blackthorn was built as a general cargo freighter in Holland, and was launched in December 1959. She changed names and owners several times through her career, before she eventually sailed under the name Jane Sea. In September 1984 she experienced engine problems while she laid at anchor in Aruba loaded with cement, and the crew abandoned ship. Nothing was ever heard from the owner or her crew again, and the ship was seized by the local authorities. Several auctions were held to sell the ship, but with no luck. She was scuttled as an artificial reef and dive target 4.September 1988 at Palm Beach. The wreck rest today on a depth of 25 to 30 meter.
