Catharina
II was a general cargo ship laid down by Van Der Werff
Scheepsbouw in Westerbroek, and was launched in 1940 for
the Dutch authorities. She changed name and owners several
times before she sailed as Talata under Saint Kitts &
Nevis flag in 1965. While at anchor outside Basseterra 24
October 1985, she developed a leak and sank. Due to her
exposed location the wreck is pretty broken up, and the
battered wreck rest today on a depth of 15 to 25 meter
right outside Basseterra harbor.
