Xing Da

Xing Da has a shady history, and its uncertain if she was operated by any legal companies, or was chartered out to the Chinese mafia. Under her last journey she smuggled illegal immigrants for the Chinese mafia Triad, and was in a joint operation between the US Coast Guard, US Marines and US Immigration, stopped outside Bermuda in October 1996. The crew was immediately arrested and the ship seized and towed in to the harbor at St. George. She was scuttled 15.May 1997 to create an artificial reef and dive site. A series of storms has ripped the wreck apart and the remains rest today scattered out northwest of Bermuda on a depth of approximately 15 to 30 meter.
