Bonita
was on a journey from Luleaa to Haltenau loaded with iron
ore when she collided with the steamer Bojan 14.October
1941. Because of the war, all vessels sail through these
waters almost without any lights on, and the Swedish ship
Bojan does not have time to steer clear of Bonita. The
accident occur nine nautical miles south of Trelleborg,
and in the collision the port side of her is torn open. Of
the crew of 24 men, only the Captain S. Farup and three
men survives. The wreck rest today on a depth of 35 to 42
meter southeast of Trelleborg.
