Boringia
went down in the deep northwest of Lysegrunden 13. August
1975 under a journey from Nørresund to Nexø loaded
with concrete and a crew of three men. At midnight she had
arrived in Kattegat, when the captain was rushed up to the
bridge. Boringia`s bow wouldn't straighten up because of
the heavy cargo and the water had started to flood her.
Emergency signals were sent and the crew started to
abandon ship. The Danish torpedo boat Ørnen arrived 03:00
to assist, but nn hour later a big crash could be heard
when the cargo shifted. This was the death sentence for
Boringia and shortly after she disappeared in the deep.
The wreck rest today on a depth of 19 to 28 meter
northwest of Tisvilde.
