EK-7508 Vapper


EK-7508 Vapper was a fishing trawler built in Stralsund in Germany in 1974. She was used in the Estonian fishing industry, and was fitted out as a self supplied fishing factory. Rumors also claims that these trawlers under the Soviet iron curtain in the 1970's and 1980's were used as surveillance and radio ships for the navy. In October 1993 she was sold to Dubai for scrapping. The Russian company Raff TransFlot was given the task of bringing her there, and she was put under tow to India. Late at night 19. December 1994 the cable broke in rough seas and she drifted off helplessly. Not long after she foundered and disappeared in the deep. The wreck rest today south of Falsterbo on a depth of 10 to 30 meter.
